The Müritz National Park (Total area: 322 km²) in Germany represents a typical part of the wood and lakeland district of Mecklenburg. There are 107 lakes more than an hectare in size in the National Park and many ponds within the forests. With an area of 117 m² the Müritz is the second largest lake in Germany.
