| Zusammenfassung: | Welcome to the 6th International Conference on Comparative Biology of Monocotyledons – Monocots VI, also featuring the 2nd World Congress of Bromeliaceae Evolution – Bromevo II and the 7th International Symposium on Grass Systematics and Evolution. Under the motto Monocots for all: bringing the whole from its parts we welcome researchers from different fields of investigation to participate in the Monocots VI Conference. This meeting will be held in Praiamar Natal Hotel & Convention Center, in the tropical tourist-friendly city of Natal, Northeastern Brazil, from October 7th-12th, 2018. The Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) will promote the event, which is sponsored by the Brazilian National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico – CNPq). The Monocots conference is a major event in the area of botany, biodiversity conservation, and plant biotechnology, being held every 5 years. This is the first time that Latin America host such important meeting, this time promoted by a multidisciplinary group of professors from UFRN university and external board of counselors.
