ICO2017 was scheduled for Annaba, Algeria. It became clear that in the current political climate it will not be possible to hold a well-attended ICO2017 there. This is largely a matter of perception as there is no objective evidence that Algeria is anything but a safe destination. The 2019 International Congress of Odonatology will be held in Austin, Texas in the southern US. Austin is a great destination for dragonflies and damselflies with 116 species known from the Austin area and 245 species in Texas. The Sunday night ice breaker and all the meetings will take place in downtown Austin on Lady Bird Lake at the 2nd floor of the Palmer Event Center.
