On behalf of the Czech Society for Cell Biology, I would like to invite you to attend, and present your work at the 12th International Congress of Cell Biology . The congress, held under the auspices of the International Federation for Cell Biology, will take place 21 - 25 July 2016 at the Prague Congress Center, Prague, Czech Republic. The aim of the congress is to offer a unique opportunity for sharing selected aspects on the latest evidence-based research findings and applications. Also, the congress is a stimulating forum for professional development and establishing fruitful global and regional collaboration. Newly integrated into the congress program are the academic, scientific, and corporate project development day, the exchange and career fair for students, the industry training center, and new innovative congress technologies for delegates. More than 80 invited speakers will attend the congress and we expect more than 2000 participants. Our hope is that many young scientists, especially PhD. students and postdoctoral fellows, will attend and share their perspectives. After all, the younger generation represents the promise of the field. The congress theme, “Exploring cellular structure and function” recognises the key role that cell biology plays in the management of deeper understanding of the tissues and organisms that cells compose. We have done the utmost to create a program in line with the theme. Prague is a charming city situated in the very heart of Europe. It has a rich history, magnificent architecture, and a unique culture. The region of Prague is an important center of research with several universities and the majority of institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Please join us for the International Congress of Cell Biology 2016 in Prague. ... [Information of the supplier]

It is our great honour and pleasure to invite you to the 29th European Congress of Arachnology. The congress of arachnology is returning to the Czech Republic after 21 years (15th European Colloquium of Arachnology) and to Brno after 44 years (5th International Congress on Arachnology). Brno is famous for being the city of Johann Gregor Mendel, the father of genetics. It is the second largest city in the Czech Republic with almost 500 000 inhabitants. It is located in the eastern part of the country (Moravia) and is the historical capital city and is the administrative, business, cultural and scientific centre of the Southern Moravian Region. The 29th European Congress of Arachnology is jointly organised by Masaryk University and the Czech Arachnological Society. The Czech Republic has a long tradition of research in arachnology. Particularly, Brno was home to two famous figures, František Miller (1902-1983) and Josef Kratochvíl (1909-1992). We would like to use this congress to make you familiar with the current spider research, nature and culture of the Czech Republic. We are convinced that you will enjoy the scientific sessions, the field trips and also the traditional Czech cuisine we have prepared! ... BioLib is non-profit project that can be used as an educational tool. The purpose of this project is to collect biological information and present it to public both professional or just nature lovers. Our first task is to create list of animals, plants and fungi species of Czech Republic, this is about 70 to 90 thousand species. System also contains (or in some cases rather 'will contain') gallery of images connected with records in the species database, database of biological terms, list of literature and links about nature, checklists, language dictionary of species, articles and so on. Project BioLib allows anyone who wants to help to insert data into its databases. After registration the user is allowed to add images, links, write image descriptions, add terms to biological dictionary or texts to species. The submitted data is of course revised before added to database. The purpose of BioLib is to create system that helps people to find as much resources on subject they are interested in as possible, not just in data contained in databases, but also giving them list of links and literature on this subject. ... The aim of the Czech National Phytosociological Database is to gather computerized phytosociological information (vegetation relevés) from the territory of the Czech Republic in a large database that will facilitate easy access to relevant data for the purposes of vegetation surveys, mapping etc. These activities are a part of wider European projects co-ordinated by the Working Group for European Vegetation Survey of the International Association for Vegetation Science, e.g. SynBioSys. The data are stored in the TURBOVEG database management program by S.M. Hennekens which is a European standard software for phytosociological databases. The Czech National Phytosociological Database is co-ordinated from the Department of Botany, Masaryk University, Brno, with several local co-ordinators in other institutes, namely in the Institute of Botany, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The co-ordinator of the database is Milan Chytry. An integral part of the database project is the development of methods for data analysis. Major procedures developed so far are available in JUICE software by Lubomir Tichy. ... [Information of the supplier]
These sites allow the presentation of data on the distribution of vascular plants in the Czech Republic by interactively generated network maps and listings. Gradually, we would like to build a live databank that would be continuously updated. Further development and replenishment of the database will depend in particular on the involvement of the public and botanical exchange of floristic data. ... By the middle of the 19th century, lynxes had completely disappeared from Bavaria. It is due to an approved release of 17 lynxes (between 1982-1987) in the area of today’s Šumava National Park that lynxes again populate the Bavarian-Bohemian border area. The two national parks (Bavarian Forest and Šumava) currently represent the core lynx habitat, and the centre from which the animals are spreading to new areas. It is the priority objective of our project to collect current data on lynxes and their use of territory, and on the relationship between the predator and its large animals of prey – roe and red deer – within a large mountain forest ecosystem left mainly to nature. The data collection will to be carried out with the assistance of the latest communication technology in accordance with animal protection laws, and without disturbing the animals in their natural habitat. ... The Karyological database of the ferns and flowering plants of Slovakia, available on-line, was established and launched with the publication "Chromosome number survey of the ferns and flowering plants of Slovakia" (Marhold et al. 2007). The on-line version of the database will be updated regularly. The database version 1.0 includes 8096 chromosome number records on 2460 taxa (species and infraspecific taxa) and nothotaxa (hybrids), which were extracted from 578 publications and manuscripts. The database includes chromosome number records on all autochthonous and alochthonous species and hybrids of the ferns and flowering plants wild growing in the area of Slovakia, or those cultivated in Slovakia (such data are marked), or those of unknown origin, where the records were based on plant material obtained from the area of Slovakia (e.g. seeds from botanical gardens, forest nurseries, breeding stations, etc.). ...
