The aims of Tela Botanica are the creation of a network of French speaking botanists, the promotion of co-operative projects, as well as the making available of botanical data. The web presence offers comprehensive possibilities for searches for particular plant species, plant communities, and literature. The offering is supplemented with current information, an events calendar, and indexes of botanical institutions. ... [Editorial staff vifabio]
The aim of this web presence is to enable access to habitat information for plant species in the Alsace area. Two alternatives are offered: either, after the selection of a species, a map of its distribution is shown, or lists are presented; the lists show either all the species known to be present in the area of a commune, or all communes within whose areas a particular species has been verified. The cartographic presentation of the floristic inheritance of Alsace is made possible through the utilisation of three data collections: (1) the Brunfels database of the Société Botanique d'Alsace, which contains about 215000 records of occurrence; (2) a part of the phytosociological database SOPHY, with data for Eastern France, which has been made available to the Société Botanique d'Alsace, containing 165000 entries for Alsace; and (3) the database of the Herbarium of the Louis Pasteur University in Strasburg (Strasbourg, STR) currently with 38000 entries. ... Welcome to the catalogue "Herbarium specimens" at Museum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris (Herbarium Musei Parisiensis, P). You can search for georeferenced origins only, for photographed specimens only, for specimens from a country, from a family, from a genus, from a species (binomial), from a specific epithet (no genus), from a specified herbarium, or for types only. The advanced search form is available in French only. ... [Information of the supplier, modified]
... [Redaktion vifabio]
The Great Region, located between Rhine, Mosel, Sarre and Meuse, has a total area of 65.401 km2. Biogeographically, it is spread over the oceanic and continental zones. The administrative complexity of the Great Region, four countries and five regional entities, offer a challenging opportunity for trans-boundary collaboration in terms of Nature Conservation. Since many years, administrations, scientists and naturalists gather primary biodiversity data that are crucial for science-based decisions making. This website offers a trans-boundary view on species observations related to Birds and Habitats Directive, this project will deliver a more accurate evaluation of Natura2000 network. By linking nature monitoring, scientific research and innovation technology, it exposes publically funded data to a wider public and raises biodiversity loss awareness. Bio-GR makes available data that are shared by several data publishers from the Greater Region. These data are shared according to the Data Usage Agreement, which includes the provision that users of any data accessed through or retrieved via the Bio-GR Portal will always give credit to the original data publishers. ... In 2011 the Federation des Conservatoires Botaniques Nationaux launched an ambitious collaborative project involving eleven national botanical conservatories of France. The project aims to establish a formal procedure and standardized system for data hosting, aggregation and publication for four areas: flora, fungi, vegetation and habitats. In 2014, the first phase of the project led to the development of the national flora dataset: SIFlore. As it includes about 21 million records of flora occurrences, this is currently the most comprehensive dataset on the distribution of vascular plants (Tracheophyta) in the French territory. SIFlore contains information for about 15'454 plant taxa occurrences (indigenous and alien taxa) in metropolitan France and Reunion Island, from 1545 until 2014. The data records were originally collated from inventories, checklists, literature and herbarium records. ... In order to present our results, a geoportal was developed by the Fédération des conservatoires botaniques nationaux that allows the SIFlore dataset to be publically viewed. As the FCBN belongs to the Information System for Nature and Landscapes’ (SINP), a governmental program, the dataset is also accessible through the websites of the National Inventory of Natural Heritage (http://www.inpn.fr) and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (http://www.gbif.fr).
