International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering (iCBBE 2014) wird vom 20. bis 22. September 2014 in Suzhou, China, stattfinden. ... [Information des Anbieters, übersetzt]
By the time scientists arrive in San Diego in December 2015, an estimated 40,000 papers on cell biology will have been published since the 2014 meeting. Even more data will be available on imaging, protein structures, genomics, gene expression, and more. Our challenge is to convert this information into meaningful knowledge to understand how cells work. The 2015 ASCB meeting overarching theme is about making connections at different scales, from the intracellular level to the tissue level, to the organism level all the way up to the macrocosmic level, all in the light of big data and information integration. This integration will help us ask the right questions and find answers to the challenging problems in medicine, living systems, and ecosystems. Cell biology is increasingly relevant not only to those who think of themselves as cell biologists but also to more specialized researchers in neuroscience, immunology, cancer biology, synthetic biology, biophysics, molecular medicine, and more. ... The word "aging" encompasses a range of physiological changes in humans, human tissues, and constituent cells. Alterations in metabolism, whether at the level of small molecules, protein homeostasis, signaling patterns, or intertissue communication, underpin many of the processes that ultimately decline or shift during aging. The recent wealth of information on how perturbation of metabolic factors can accelerate or impair aging processes makes this an exciting time to convene and consider the new biology being uncovered, its potential impact on human health, and the implications for the coming age of precision medicine. This meeting brings together scientists who have interests in aging and metabolism to explore the growing intersection between these fields and to discuss key questions in this area for human health and disease. Leaders in the field will share results from cellular research, investigations in model organisms, and studies with translational impact rooted in mammalian systems. ... [Editorial staff vifabio]

One of the main objectives of the HBP is to create and operate six Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Platforms, which are the core of the emerging HBP research infrastructure for brain research. Starting 30 March 2016, the scientific community worldwide can begin exploring the initial versions of the six HBP ICT Platforms. The Platforms embody the key objectives of the HBP, to gather and disseminate data describing the brain, to simulate and build models of the brain, to develop brain-inspired computing and robotics, and to create a global scientific community around the developing research infrastructure. The Platforms consist of prototype hardware, software tools, databases, programming interfaces, and initial data-sets, which will be refined and expanded on an on-going basis in close collaboration with end-users. The development of the Platforms has been the result of an extensive multidisciplinary effort involving more than 750 scientific collaborators and engineers from 114 institutions in 24 countries. The Platforms are as follows: the Neuroinformatics Platform, the Brain Simulation Platform, the High Performance Analytics and Computing Platform, the Medical Informatics Platform, the Neuromorphic Computing Platform and the Neurorobotics Platform. ... Wir heißen Sie zur 55. Jahrestagung der GV-SOLAS und 17. IGTP Fortbildung 2017 in Köln herzlich willkommen. ...
