Welcome to the 27th Conference of the Plant Population Biology Section (PopBio) of the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland (GfÖ), which will be held in Konstanz from 29th to 31st May 2014. PopBio is the annual international meeting for people working in the field of plant population biology and ecology. We will have two and a half days of exciting presentations. For those interested in visiting the largest nature reserve at the shore of Lake Constance, we also offer a half-day excursion to the local Wollmatinger Ried nature reserve. We have invited five top keynote speakers who will cover a diverse set of hot topics in plant population biology and ecology. Last but not least, on Friday night we'll gather for a conference dinner, with the Alps, Lake of Constance and the isle of Mainau as a glorious background to food and festivity. Mit der Literaturdatenbank zur Vegetationsökologie Mitteleuropas bietet die Universitätsbibliothek Braunschweig eine aktuelle Datenbank an, in der wissenschaftliche Veröffentlichungen zur Flora und Vegetation Mitteleuropas nachgewiesen werden. Der Schwerpunkt liegt bislang auf der Bundesrepublik Deutschland; die Erfassung der einschlägigen Veröffentlichungen über Österreich, Schweiz, Norditalien und Slovenien ist vorgesehen. In Auswahl werden auch die Nachbargebiete berücksichtigt. Es sind z.Zt ca. 11.000 Veröffentlichungen nachgewiesen, wobei die Daten laufend aktualisiert und ergänzt werden. Eine Besonderheit der Datenbank ist, daß Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler, die auf diesem Gebiet forschend tätig sind, die Möglichkeit haben, die Nachweise ihrer Veröffentlichungen selbst über das WorldWideWeb in die Datenbank einzubringen.
