This database is primary aimed at providing an exhaustive and updated registry of sequence variants identified in auto-inflammatory disorder related genes. Since we believe that an attempt to retrieve phenotypical information from all patients identified throughout the world would be an impossible task, we chose to allow only one inclusion per variant (duplicates are automatically rejected), although we allocated a short space for clinical information on the initial patient. The relatively high number of variants with unknown associated phenotype likely stems from the fact that most data are submitted by laboratories performing genetic diagnosis, which do not always have relevant clinical information about the patients. Conversely, a number of apparently simple polymorphisms, i.e. intronic variants not located in splice acceptor or donor sites and silent mutations, were found in symptomatic individuals during the diagnostic test. Since functional experiments are generally lacking, we cannot rule out that these variants do not alter regulatory splice elements, thus acting as true mutations. For all these reasons, we recommend that this database should not be used as a reference for phenotype-genotype correlation. ... [Information of the supplier]

Wolbachia are gram-negative bacteria that form intracellular inherited infections in many invertebrates. They are extremely common with 20-75% of all insects being infected. This public web site has been funded by the National Science Foundation to provide a central access point for information and resources for researchers interested in Wolbachia biology. To better serve the research community people are encouraged to add their research data to the various databases. To do so, first register yourself as a participant. ... A database is a model of a piece of the world. RegulonDB in this sense is a model of the complex regulation of transcription initiation or regulatory network of the cell, on the one hand. On the other hand, it is also a model of the organization of the genes in transcription units, operons and simple and complex regulons. In this sense, RegulonDB is a computational model of mechanisms of transcriptional regulation. ... [Information of the supplier]
Cyanobacteria carry a complete set of genes for oxygenic photosynthesis, which is the most fundamental life process on the earth. This organism is also interesting from an evolutional viewpoint, for it was born in a very ancient age and has survived in various environments. Chloroplast is believed to have evolved from cyanobacterial ancestors which developed an endosymbiontic relationship with a eukaryotic host cell. CyanoBase provides an easy way of accessing the sequences and all-inclusive annotation data on the structures of the cyanobacterial genomes. ... [Information of the supplier]
The Bacillus thuringiensis delta-endotoxin nomenclature committee was set up in 1993 in order to update the nomenclature originally devised in 1989 by Hofte and Whiteley (Microbiological Reviews 53:242-255). The current nomenclature, based solely on amino acid identity, allows closely related toxins to be ranked together and removes the necessity for researchers to bioassay each new toxin against a growing series of organisms. ... This server is constructed around a database dedicated to the analysis of the genome of Escherichia coli: Colibri. Its purpose is to collate and integrate various aspects of the genomic information from E. coli, the paradigm of Gram-negative bacteria. Colibri provides a complete dataset of DNA and protein sequences derived from the paradigm strain E. coli K-12, linked to the relevant annotations and functional assignments. It allows one to easily browse through these data and retrieve information, using various criteria (gene names, location, keywords, etc.). ... [Information of the supplier]
CyBib is a bibliographic database exclusively for scientific literature about cyanobacteria (blue-green algae). The entire database has been parked on the Internet to provide a resource for researchers and students involved with cyanobacteria. CyBib v5 is the seventh generation of the database to be presented on the Internet. It contains nearly 25,000 references. These references were collected in large part by Jeff Elhai, known for his Internet outreach work as the founder, editor, and publisher of CyanoNews. The other contributors are too numerous to name. ... [Information of the supplier]
