The study group entomology Berlin was founded on 17th February 1957. Since January 1991 the study group is part of the NABU Landesverband Berlin. The focus of voluntary work of the study group is on faunistic research in the federal states Berlin and Brandenburg. Between 1978 and 1988 the study group published the two periodicals: NOVIUS and Brandenburgischen Entomologischen Nachrichten. In 1999 both periodicals were combined as Märkischen Entomologischen Nachrichten. Table of contents of all three journals are available. The study group works together on different projects. Polish Entomological Union (PEU; Polish: Polski Związek Entomologiczny) was founded in Lwów in 1923. From the very beginning of its existence the aim of the PEU was: a thorough research work, i.e. taxonomy, biology, applied entomology, etc., on insects, especially those living in Poland, and publishing own publications.
