The Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants - Julius Kühn Institute (JKI) is a German federal research facility and an independent federal authority based in Quedlinburg. The JKI has 1200 employees, 300 of which are scientists, in Quedlinburg, Braunschweig, Berlin and Kleinmachnow in multiple institutes as well as Bernkastel-Kues, Darmstadt, Dresden-Pillnitz, Dossenheim, Groß Lüsewitz, Münster and Siebeldingen. Other than the 15 institutes, there are units that provide support: the “Information Centre and Library” and Central Data Processing at four JKI locations as well as administration.
