Das Projekt Naturdetektive ist ein Beitrag des Bundesumweltministeriums (BMU) und des Bundesamtes für Naturschutz (BfN) zum Artikel 13 des Übereinkommens der Vereinten Nationen über die Biologische Vielfalt. Die praktischen Erfahrungen, die das Bundesamt für Naturschutz mit den Naturdetektiven im Bereich der internetgestützten Umweltbildung macht, stehen auch der Globalen Initiative für Bildung und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit (CEPA) des Übereinkommens über die biologische Vielfalt zur Verfügung. Unser Projekt Naturdetektive schließt auch an die Konferenz der Vereinten Nationen über "Umwelt und Entwicklung" in Rio de Janeiro 1992 und damit an die AGENDA 21 mit ihrem Kapitel 36 zur "Öffentlichkeitsarbeit" an und steht in direkter Verbindung zur UN Dekade "Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung". ... The EuMon project attempts to provide a European framework that standardizes, focuses and coordinates existing monitoring programs by comparing and integrating existing methods and monitoring schemes of species and habitats of community interests. The most successful methods in terms of cost effectiveness, regional robustness will be selected and tested for their European wide applicability.
