In the 50 years since RNA was identified as a central component in the flow of genetic information, it has become increasingly clear that RNA is more than a mere messenger and performs many diverse and interesting functions. This symposium will explore the diverse, dynamic and multifaceted roles of RNA across a spectrum of cellular processes. Yet, framed in interdisciplinary discussion of the roles of non-coding RNAs with the aim of enhancing our understanding of gene regulation and function. Topics will include recent discoveries in the fields of prokaryotic and eukaryotic long and short non-coding RNAs. Collectively aiming to further understand the noncoding RNA transcriptional and regulatory landscape. ... [Information of the supplier, modified]
We are happy to announce that 2013 is the 10 year anniversary of DNA barcoding and we plan to celebrate this milestone in Kunming, China. The Chinese Academy of Sciences’ and Kunming Institute of Botany are pleased to be hosting this year’s conference. The conference will consist of four days of plenary and parallel sessions. Preconference events, such as discussion meetings focusing on advances in sequencing and informatics techniques will be held on the Sunday before the conference. There is also a Training Course associated with the conference (max 30 delegates). Past conferences have brought together participants from over 60 countries, including researchers, students, government officials, and representatives of NGOs and private companies. This year’s conference hosts, the Chinese Academy of Science and Kunming Institute of Botany, have provided a venue that hosts up to 500 participants. ... [Information of the supplier]
Synthetic biology has gained much attention since Craig Venter and his team in 2010 made the historic announcement of the creation of first fully functioning, reproducing cell controlled by synthetic DNA. The 2013 NCMLS New Frontiers symposium - a joint venture between the Radboud University Medical & Science faculties - will feature international keynote speakers as well as NCMLS top researchers, who will provide high-quality presentations on current achievements and challenges ahead in our quest to understanding the chemistry and biology of life. ... The Institute of Cytology and Genetics, Novosibirsk, Russia, will arrange the 9th International Conference on the Bioinformatics of Genome Regulation and Structure\Systems Biology (BGRS\SB-2014). These regular conferences have been run since 1998. The young scientists' school “Bioinformatics and Systems Biology” will be arranged as part of the conference. Bioinformatics is a rapidly developing field of knowledge. Each of the past BGRS conferences concerned topics urgent at those times. To preserve this tradition, the BGRS-2014 conference will be dedicated to bioinformatics and systems biology. ... [Information of the supplier]
The Scientific Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that the 6th International Barcode of Life Conference will be held from August 18 – 21, 2015 at the University of Guelph, one of Canada’s major life science universities. Guelph couples easy access to a major airport with the simple logistics of a small Canadian city, ensuring that conference participants will be able to focus on science. Since 2003, DNA barcoding has become the largest research program in biodiversity science, one examining all eukaryote kingdoms and spanning many nations. Reflecting the scope of the program, numerous major international collaborative projects are underway. The 6th Conference will sustain traditions established by the five earlier conferences; it will showcase the latest scientific achievements and socio-economic implications of work conducted by the DNA barcode research community. The theme of the 6th Conference, Barcodes to Biomes, signals the ongoing expansion of our community’s research agenda from studies on particular sets of species in particular places to work which is creating the capability to examine entire biotic assembles at local and global scales. ... The increasing amount of genome-related data is a fruitful source for biological research. By comparing complete or partial genomes it is possible to infer a great amount of new biological information, including gene function, evolutionary relationship between species and ancestral genome organization. Due to the dimension of the available data, efficient computational tools are imperative to accomplish these tasks. The RECOMB-CG satellite conference brings together leading researchers in the mathematical, computational and life sciences to discuss cutting edge research in comparative genomics, with an emphasis on computational approaches and novel experimental results. The program includes both invited speakers and contributed talks. ... [Information of the supplier]
The African Centre for DNA Barcoding (ACDB), The International Barcode of Life Project (iBOL), The Department of Environmental affairs (DEA) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ) is proud to announce and welcome delegates to our hosting of the 7th International Barcode of Life (iBOL) Conference, 20 – 24 November 2017. This is the first time that this event will be held on the African continent. The venue for the hosting of this prestigious event will be the Nombolo Mdhluli Conference Centre, Skukuza, located within the heart of African wildlife, the Kruger National Park, South Africa. Our intention is to make this a global conference with a distinctive African flavour, using the event to highlight, support and encourage African researchers across the continent and to link them up with the global barcoding network. The conference format will include plenary lectures, parallel sessions comprising invited and contributed/selected talks as well as poster presentations. The optional first day (20 November) will be devoted to training workshops. The major theme of the conference is exploring mega-diverse biotas with DNA barcodes. A series of presentations and workshops will focus on the use of DNA to understand diversity patterns and ecological processes in species-rich and complicated ecosystems. The conference also provides a general forum for presentations, posters and discussion on the wider field of DNA barcoding. ... [Information of the supplier]
Dear colleagues, Registration on 11th International Multiconference "Bioinformatics of Genome Regulation and Structure\Systems Biology" — BGRS\SB-2018 is open! There has been tremendous progress in the past few years regarding our understanding of DNA replication in eukaryotes, both yeast and mammals. Many important questions in the field are poised to be answered within the next decade. These include understanding DNA replication at the biochemical and three-dimensional protein structure levels. In addition, studies using high throughput technologies at the cellular and organismal levels are poised to answer how accurate replication of the genome is ensured by controlling origin firing in space and time. Several human diseases, including cancer, have already been linked to DNA replication stress, a term that refers to perturbations in DNA replication. Therefore, a better understanding of how cells respond to this will help us understand disease development and responses to therapy. By bringing together experts in the basic biology of DNA replication and DNA replication stress, this symposium aims to fuel further progress in these important fields. ...
