The 75th anniversary meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology will be held in Dallas, Texas, USA. The great state of Texas is fortunate to encompass a broad spectrum of geological regions, providing a diverse range of paleontological exploration and discoveries within the state. From the classic Permian redbeds of north-central Texas, to the fossil-rich Late Triassic exposures of the Texas Panhandle, Cretaceous exposures from the Big Bend region of western Texas stretching across the state beyond Dallas and Austin, through the broad expanse of Cenozoic coastal plain deposits in the south and east, and a rich Pleistocene record all across the state, Texas provides a remarkable breadth of paleontological opportunities. Even within a two hour’s drive from Dallas one can find Permian, Early Cretaceous, Late Cretaceous, Paleogene, and Pleistocene vertebrate fossil-bearing sites. This remarkable diversity of paleontological resources also means it is difficult to identify any one, ubiquitous fossil or iconic fossil taxon as representative of the area. The 2015 SVP meeting logo therefore embraces the fossil richness of the entire state of Texas, using the silhouette of the state emblazoned with the colors and styling of the distinctive Lone Star flag of Texas. ... Die 87. Jahrestagung der Paläontologischen Gesellschaft wird vom 11. - 15. September 2016 in Dresden stattfinden. ... Each year, vertebrate paleontologists, preparators, writers, artists and enthusiasts convene to share the latest research, attend workshops and field trips, and meet new fossil fans as well as old friends. It’s the world’s foremost forum on vertebrate paleontology: the Annual Meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology. It’s usually referred to simply as “SVP”. The 77th Annual Meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology will be held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The SVP 2017 logo is reconstruction of UALVP 52613, a juvenile Chasmosaurus belli found at Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta in 2010, drawn by Alberta paleoartist Michael Skrepnick. The description of this specimen was published in 2016 in JVP: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/02724634.2015.1048348. Welcome to the Stampede City! Located where the prairies meet the mountains, Calgary has long been the starting point for expeditions into North America’s natural history riches. With several UNESCO World Heritage sites nearby, including Dinosaur Provincial Park and the Burgess Shale, we are confident you will find appealing vertebrate fossils, no matter your interest. There are numerous museums and sites of interest both within the city limits or a short drive from Calgary. The word renowned Royal Tyrrell Museum is an hour and a half drive away, and Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump, another UNESCO World Heritage site, is similarly nearby. Three hours away are the Walcott Quarry to the west in Yoho National Park (Field, BC) and Dinosaur Provincial Park to the east (Brooks, AB). Also 3 hours’ drive away is the collection at the Laboratory of Vertebrate Paleontology at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. For the adventurous, consider visits to the Philip Currie Museum of Palaeontology in Grand Prairie, AB, and the Peace River Palaeontological Research Centre in Tumbler Ridge, BC. Between all of these points are some of the world’s richest fossil deposits from Cretaceous and Cenozoic times. We have located this year’s Annual Meeting in the heart of downtown, and amenities for all tastes and budgets are available via a short stroll down the Stephen Ave. pedestrian mall. Please venture out and enjoy our famous hospitality! ... [Information of the supplier]

The Host Committee of the 73rd Annual Meeting is delighted to welcome all participants to the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology’s 2013 meeting in Los Angeles, California. The meeting will take place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, close to the heart of downtown Los Angeles that in recent years has experienced a dramatic resurgence with exciting new dining and cultural opportunities. Your host committee members represent institutions from the Greater Los Angeles region and their research interests encompass many facets of the discipline of vertebrate paleontology. This is the third time that the meeting will be hosted by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and we are particularly thrilled that the Society will return to Los Angeles in the year that the museum celebrates both its centenary and a hundred years of excavations at the La Brea Tar Pits—a National Natural Landmark and one of the world’s richest Ice Age fossil sites. ...
