ISME17 is the 17th edition of our symposium which takes place every two years. The conference is the front runner in the field of microbial ecology, with an average of around 1,750 international scientists that attend the conference. Our next edition will take place in charming Leipzig, a city used to bringing people together, as the very first trade fair in the world took place here, back in the 12th century. The city also harbors a rich cultural history, when it comes to music and the performing arts. Composers Bach and Mendelssohn Bartholdy and philosophers Goethe, Nietsche and Leibniz all called the city their home. Being a true university city, there is a strong local scientific community, ready to show you their city. ... [Information of the supplier]
Human microbiota - the collection of microbes living in and on our body - have a significant impact on human health and well-being. They have been associated with numerous diseases, yet we have barely understood their role in the context of life-style and genetics. Various initiatives are underway around the world to survey the human microbiota at several body sites, characterise them, understand their interactions with the human hosts, elucidate their role in diseases, and design possible therapeutic or dietary interventions. This conference will provide plentiful opportunities for researchers to learn about and to connect to important developments in this field. ... [Information of the supplier]
