These pages summarize internet resources of interest to mycologists (biologists who study fungi). The WWW Virtual Library is a distributed and comprehensive catalog of internet resources maintained by volunteers. [Information of the supplier]
Work is underway to catalog the type specimens of fungi at the New York Botanical Garden Herbarium, as a continuation of the Type Specimen Catalog Project. The Cataloging of Vascular Plant Type Specimens was completed in 2002. The type specimens of rust fungi (Pucciniaceae) were completed several years ago, and types from recently incorporated herbaria (e.g., Tulane University, Kansas State University) have also been cataloged. The current focus of the Type Specimen Catalog for Fungi is the mushrooms and related groups of fungi (i.e., Macrofungi). A complete type catalog record for Macrofungi includes a wider variety of elements than plant specimens, to permit a complete evaluation of key taxonomic features. These fungi are characterized by an ephemeral spore-bearing structure that changes drastically upon drying. Therefore, in addition to a transcription of the specimen label and an image of the specimen, type catalog records for fungi include text, images of associated unpublished notes and drawings, published descriptions and images of spore print, living organism, or microscopic features. These supplemental items, which are not all maintained physically with the related specimen, can now be associated with it virtually. Some of the items in the Macrofungi type specimen catalog are illustrated below ... [Information of the supplier]
These pages give you information on the 2347 species of Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes and Myxomycetes recorded so far in Northern Ireland including distribution maps. If you click any of the dots on the maps, you will get a species list for that 10km square. There will be gaps in the list, for example the Myxomycetes, but these records however should be on the British Mycological Society Database. If you have records for Northern Ireland that are not shown here, please use the online recording form or print out the recording sheet and send to me on the address given. ... Fungimap is dedicated to improving knowledge and conservation of Australian macrofungi. Our emphasis is on enjoying and learning about fungi and our focus is on macrofungi in the natural environment. The aims of Fungimap are: a) To stimulate and support the study and appreciation of Australian macrofungi. b) To promote the conservation of Australian macrofungi. c) To link people with an interest in Australian macrofungi, providing opportunities for sharing and learning. c) To foster relationships between groups and individuals that share the objectives of Fungimap. ...
... Fungi display dynamics in all aspects of their biology, ranging from the control of intracellular motility to their migration across ecosystems. This meeting aims to celebrate the dynamic nature of fungi and provide an overview of some of the most cutting-edge current research in fungal biology. Initially the meeting will focus on the dynamic processes involved in the cell biology of fungi, and during the development and control of their cellular differentiation. The meeting will then concentrate on the dynamic nature of fungal pathogenicity, at both the level of host invasion and global movement of pathogens, before focusing on the dynamic nature of fungal genomes and their evolution and adaption. Finally, the meeting will explore how mathematical modelling can be used to explain the dynamic nature of fungi. ... [Information of the supplier]
The 29th Fungal Genetics Conference promotes the dissemination of the latest research on all aspects of fungal genetics with a focus on filamentous fungi and encourages communication and collaboration between researchers interested in genomics, gene regulation, cell biology and development, evolutionary biology, fungal-host interactions and biotechnology. The preliminary program is now available. The conference will open on Tuesday evening, March 14 with a Welcome Reception from 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm and end on Sunday, March 19. The meeting will be returning to the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California. The latest advances in fungal biology are presented at plenary, concurrent and poster sessions. Presentations for the concurrent and poster sessions are programmed from submitted abstracts. Be sure to submit an abstract by December 8 to be included in this important meeting. You will have the opportunity to present your research and get feedback from a broad audience of scientists. ... [Information of the supplier]
... [Information des Anbieters]
