Abstract: The conference will provide a unique opportunity to showcase examples of the research and science needed to address the future challenges by looking several decades ahead. It will explore a range of challenges, such as the terrestrial, coastal and marine responses to climate change, consequences of a different predator community, the impacts of invasive species, possible developments in agriculture and potential new approaches for carrying out science. Additionally, progress towards biodiversity targets will be explored. Central to the conference will be an examination of the science evidence needed to support decisions about how to maintain and restore global bird populations and communities.
