| Abstract: | Wolfsburg is waiting for you! Various institutions from Braunschweig are organizing the annual conference of the VAAM 2018 in Wolfsburg. Involved are the Braunschweig University of Technology (TU), the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI), the Leibniz Institute German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (DSMZ), the Johann Heinrich von Thünen Institute, Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries (TI) and the Julius Kühn Institute, Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants (JKI). During the last years, we focused our joint microbiological research in Braunschweig on infection, biodiversity, ecology and biotechnology. Typical for Braunschweig is the trustful, close scientific cooperation across disciplinary and institutional borders. Here microbiologist are used to work with local and international engineers, physicians, bioinformaticians and chemists in joint projects. Moreover, this interdisciplinary and international approach is the basis of our common educational programmes. Consequently, you find here an innovative and friendly study and research environment.
