| Abstract: | The 8th European Hemiptera Congress (EHC 8) and 11th International Workshop on Leafhoppers and Planthoppers of Economic Importance is organized by the Department of Zoology in co-operation with the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. The European Hemiptera Congress (EHC 8) is organized periodically every three years and aims to present current research results in different groups of the Hemiptera, in aspects including ethology, bioacoustics, physiology, morphology, molecular biology, cytology, ecology, biogeography, faunistics, taxonomy, phylogeny, palaeontology, applied research on pests and pest management, databases and management of collection.The conference is aimed at a large group of researchers, doctoral students and students from national centers and foreign.
