Abstract: The Dutch Elasmobranch Society is pleased to host the 21st Annual European Elasmobranch Association Scientific Conference from 12-14 October in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We hope to meet you at a stimulating conference where the latest and greatest in elasmobranch research will be presented. In keeping with the EEA’s role of providing an interface between science and policy, we have chosen as an underlying theme for this year’s meeting:“The science you need for the policy you want” Conference sessions will cover: perspectives for spatial management; movement ecology; coherence in international legislation and policy; selectivity, survival, and discards of elasmobranchs in fisheries; and elasmobranch husbandry. We are proud to announce that Dr. Neil Hammerschlag, Dr. Robert Hueter, and Dr. Kim Friedman will be keynote speakers at the Conference. The three-day conference will be held at the grand building of the KIT Royal Tropical Institute, only a stone’s throw away from the city center with all its famous historical sites and landmarks, and within walking distance from the Amsterdam Zoo and several beautifully landscaped parks. Amsterdam is a popular destination in Autumn, so we advice everyone to make travel arrangements as soon as possible, as prices may rise over the summer. [Information of the supplier]
