| Abstract: | In the year 1866 Ernst Haeckel introduced the term “Ecology”. The guiding theme of the 46th Annual Meeting is therefore "150 years of ecology – lessons for the future". The overarching aim of the conference is to stimulate a critical assessment of the status quo of the different disciplines of ecology. At the same time and taking into account the latest developments in ecological research we will address the following questions: Where are we? What have we learned? What are the gaps?
