Abstract: | The Bernstein Network Computational Neuroscience was established in Germany in 2004. Its core elements are the Bernstein Centers for Computational Neuroscience in Berlin, Freiburg, Göttingen, Heidelberg-Mannheim, Munich and Tübingen. The network is complemented by 'Bernstein Partner' projects, consisting of five Bernstein Groups and eleven Bernstein Collaborations. Understanding the brain is the prerequisite for creating new methods for prevention and treatment of diseases of the nervous system. It may also help developing new strategies for learning and teaching. It may even be used for the design of new, 'intelligent' technical devices, such as neuroprostheses or more powerful computer systems. [Information of the supplier] |
