Abstract: Beside common African mammals (e.g. lion, elephant), this web page also introduce to small mammals. Notes on several mammals, chiefly those of Tanzania are available. Description of Tanzanian mammalians mainly restrict to species of the mountains in eastern Africa. For each species the following statements are available: taxononomy, pictures, original description, locus typicus, measurements, short descriptions, distribution, comparative notes and references. Two online keys allow to determine certain mammalian species by external features and characters of the skull, respectively.
