Abstract: This private web site is dedicated to the Birdwing Butterflies (family Papilionidae, tribe Troidini). The Birdwings occur from Sri Lanka and India in the west to China and Taiwan in the north-east and Australia in the south. The highest number of species is found in the Indonesian archipelago and New Guinea. This web site covers all 33 species recognized by this author. All species and subspecies are imaged. The photo gallery also includes numerous forms and aberrations and gives to each image a brief description of the collecting locality of the specimen. This web site displays more than 650 photos of Birdwing butterflies (September 2010). There are also systematic lists and taxonomic notes to each species. [Information of the supplier, modified]
