Abstract: This private website provides a photo gallery of 2,285 species out of approximately 7,000 beetle species known to occur in Germany. A search engine allows searching photos by scientific names or morphological characters. Wide information about morphology of beetles, biology of special species (Stag Beetle (Lucanus cervus); Click Beetle (Lacon querceus); Jewel Beetle (Agrilus biguttatus)), variability of ladybirds (Coccinellidae), phylogeny of Coeleoptera and conservation are given. A map module displays species records on a map of Germany. A glossary, information about further literature, meetings and web links are also provided. [Editorial staff vifabio]
