Abstract: The Vienna Coleopterists Society (WCV) is an international association supporting coleopterology. Moreover, it is an important task of this society to assist in solving problems of nature conservation and habitat protection. The WCV has been founded in 1906 by Adolf Hoffmann and is the world's oldest coleopterological association. The scientific journal of the WCV is the Koleopterologische Rundschau (Coleopterological Review), for the first time published in 1912. This strictly coleopterological periodical is published by the WCV and the Austrian Zoological-Botanical Society ; it appears annually and contains new contributions on taxonomy, phylogeny, zoogeography and faunistics (without geographic restrictions) using the most contemporary scientific standard. Additionally, the Vienna Coleopterists Society co-publishes: Water Beetles of China and Monographs on Coleoptera. [Information of the supplier, modified]
