Title alternative: Česká národní fytocenologická databáze
Creator: Chytry, Milan [co-ordinator]; et al.
Publisher: Masaryk University
Abstract: The aim of the Czech National Phytosociological Database is to gather computerized phytosociological information (vegetation relevés) from the territory of the Czech Republic in a large database that will facilitate easy access to relevant data for the purposes of vegetation surveys, mapping etc. These activities are a part of wider European projects co-ordinated by the Working Group for European Vegetation Survey of the International Association for Vegetation Science, e.g. SynBioSys. The data are stored in the TURBOVEG database management program by S.M. Hennekens which is a European standard software for phytosociological databases. The Czech National Phytosociological Database is co-ordinated from the Department of Botany, Masaryk University, Brno, with several local co-ordinators in other institutes, namely in the Institute of Botany, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The co-ordinator of the database is Milan Chytry. An integral part of the database project is the development of methods for data analysis. Major procedures developed so far are available in JUICE software by Lubomir Tichy. [Information of the supplier]
