Abstract: Saccharomyces Genome Database is a scientific database of the molecular biology and genetics of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is commonly known as baker's or budding yeast. (...) SGD contains the sequences of yeast genes and proteins; descriptions and classifications of their biological roles, molecular functions, and subcellular localizations; links to literature information; links to functional genomics datasets; and tools for analysis and comparison of sequences. The SGD Home page is the main entry point for the database. SGD is aimed at scientists; collected information about yeast for the non-scientist can be found at the Yeast Virtual Library. SGD does not collect medical information, and SGD curators cannot answer health-related questions. [Information of the supplier]
