| Abstract: | The 8th European Conference of Tropical Ecology will be held in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) from 24 to 28 February 2025. We are excited that more than 250 abstracts have been submitted. Furthermore, we are delighted that the NWO (the Dutch Science Foundation) has agreed to be the main sponsors of the event, with additional support coming from the University of Amsterdam Faculty of Science. The conference will take place at a central location in the city (Hotel Casa). The scientific content of the meeting will be delivered through oral and poster presentations. There will be two keynote talks each day (one from a ‘rising star’ and one from a ‘senior’ scientist) and thematically coupled oral and poster sessions to stimulate maximum debate and interaction. In addition to the scientific program, we are offering a conference dinner at the nearby House of Watt (including drinks), a photographic competition, and a workshop on field work in the tropics.
