CarabMap is a simple dynamic map based on "vetted" data, - that is: occurrence records verified by the author and including data from museums and collections, literature, observations and online resources that are deemed to be plausible. The Chrysomelidae Database includes thorough information on the holdings of all species of flea beetles (alticines), Aulacoscelidines, tortoise beetles (cassidines),and chlamisines in the collection of the National Museum of Natural History (USNM). The database documents the approximately 5,000 species in these four groups and provides information on type material, geographic region, country and state holdings, bionomic data, and classification. This private website provides a photo gallery of 2,285 species out of approximately 7,000 beetle species known to occur in Germany. A search engine allows searching photos by scientific names or morphological characters. Wide information about morphology of beetles, biology of special species (Stag Beetle (Lucanus cervus); Click Beetle (Lacon querceus); Jewel Beetle (Agrilus biguttatus)), variability of ladybirds (Coccinellidae), phylogeny of Coeleoptera and conservation are given.
