On behalf of the Brazilian biophysics and biochemistry communities, we welcome you to the joint 20th IUPAB Congress, 45th Annual SBBf Meeting, and 49th Annual SBBq Meeting, to be held in Brazil, October 26 - 30, 2020. This Congress aims to offer a broad international overview of research frontiers and recent developments in Biophysics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The Annual Meetings of the Brazilian Biophysical Society (SBBf) and the Brazilian Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Society (SBBq) are two of the most traditional events within the Brazilian scientific community. ... The precise regulation of gene expression is necessary for organismal development, and changes in gene expression regulation underlie many evolutionary adaptations. Defective transcriptional regulation can lead to developmental disorders and disease. Through the combination of novel new technologies, genetics, evolutionary biology, biochemistry, and molecular, cell, and computational biology, many layers of transcriptional regulation have been uncovered and dissected. This meeting will address several of these areas, including basic transcriptional control, enhancer structure and function, chromatin packaging, epigenetics, and phase separation. We hope you can join us in Chicago, where we will bring together researchers in these various fields to hear the latest results that contribute to our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of transcriptional regulation and how these processes have evolved and contribute to development and disease. ... Building on the collaborative research and discussions that were at the center of the 2017 Neuroimmunology Cell Symposium, the goal of this symposium is to explore the interface between the nervous and immune systems during development, homeostasis, and disease. The meeting will examine the mediators, mechanisms, and implications of neuro-immune crosstalk in the central and peripheral nervous systems. It will also cover emerging areas such as the neuronal regulation of peripheral immune function and the influence of the microbiota on the brain. We will bring together researchers from across the fields of neuroscience and immunology to facilitate discussion of exciting new concepts and developments in both fields. ... The symposium will bring together the leading developers of imaging methods with cutting edge applications that illustrate how imaging can answer biological questions. We will place emphasis on methods that are able to capture the dynamics of life, spanning the whole range from molecular resolution to imaging of whole organisms. Everybody interested in the latest imaging technologies and their applications in the life sciences should attend. The symposium provides many opportunities for presentations, discussions and interactions between students, postdocs, junior as well as senior investigators. ... [Information of the supplier]
This year's Meeting will focus on "Trends in Cancer and Infection". As in previous years, the STS Meeting will be organized as a Joint Meeting of the Signal Transduction Society with signaling study groups of the German Societies for Immunology (DGfI) and Cell Biology (DGZ), the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM), the German Society for Pharmacology ( DGP) and the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology (DGHM). In keeping with the focus on "Trend in Cancer and Infection" a special workshop will be organized together with the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF). If other organizations are interested in joining the STS Meeting, please contact the current President Prof. Dr. Katharina Hieke-Kubatzky. ... [Information of the supplier]
